As an organization evolves and grows, so should brand awareness. In the past year, Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America has embarked on a journey to create a brand image that could represent all its communities and provide greater brand awareness for the entire PMMA system.The challenges were great. The new mark had to reflect PMMA’s core values, mission and beliefs.

As we celebrate National Nutrition Month in March, we’re putting the spotlight on a few members of our dining services team who work tirelessly to provide our residents with nutritious and delicious meals every day.Dena Dotson, dining services directorFor the past year and a half, Dena has worked as the dining services director overseeing everything in the department including a weekly nutrition meeting, care plans for each resident and initial, annual and quarterly assessments.

[Photo credit: Adobe Stock][/caption]By Diane Harris for Next AvenueThis week marks the 25th anniversary of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), which allows employees to take up to 12 weeks of unpaid time off from work to care for a new child or sick relative or to manage their own serious medical condition without fear of losing their job. The biggest cause for celebration, however, isn’t for what the law has accomplished over the past quarter century, but rather what may come next.

Farmington Presbyterian Manor received a certificate of recognition from Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America for reaching goals in fiscal year 2017, covering the months of July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2017.

We’re pleased to welcome Dena Dotson as our new director of dining services.Dena comes to us from the Veterans Administration, where she was a certified dietary manager, certified foodservice protection professional over the nutrition and food service kitchen and the canteen from 2007 to 2016. Nutrition and food service develops and provides comprehensive nutritional services for our veterans and their families across VA health care facilities. Dena got her start as a CDM, CFPP at Madison Medical Center in Fredericktown in 2003.
