Residents:

Warren Corliss: “I’m thankful I’m a Christian and believe in God. All the good things in my life are from Him. He led me to Glenda! I’m not perfect, but I keep trying to live like God wants me to. I’m thankful for Farmington Presbyterian Manor. We’ve been here 22 years and the manor is our home and does everything we aren’t able to do. I’m also thankful for my family that visit frequently.”

Glenda Corliss: “I’m thankful to God, number one. The next thing is Warren -- we’ve been married 67 years. Third is that I’m thankful we are here at the manor.”

Caroline Lahay: “I’m thankful for my family and thankful to be well and enjoying life right now. I’m thankful for all the friends I’m making here -- we have a great time at lunch! I’ve only been here a short while, but it feels like everyone already knows me.”

Staff:

Brandy Byers: “I’m thankful for everything. I’m thankful for my job, my family, my children, my health – I seriously feel blessed in every way. I have nothing to NOT be thankful for. As far as Presbyterian Manor, they’ve been amazing. I’ve been here 14 years, and they have supported me through nursing school, enabling me to keep working while taking classes. I’m also thankful for my memory care team – we are such a good, strong crew that’s consistent and loves working with our residents.

“My whole family gets together for Thanksgiving, and my fondest memory is of my grandmother teaching me how to make chicken and dumplings from scratch. Even if we aren’t together on the actual day, we always try to get together at some point during the month to celebrate and have some chicken and dumplings.”

Peggy Bland: “I was getting ready for work yesterday and couldn’t stop thinking about my staff. They continually bless me with their willingness to give and give and give. They have so much patience and kindness with every day-to-day issue that comes up with residents and coworkers. I’m so grateful for all the extra hours they put in. While of course I’m grateful for my kids and family and all the blessings God’s given me in my life, sometimes I forget how grateful I am for my wonderful staff. They are truly awesome, and they do an awesome job every day taking care of our residents. I’m grateful for each and every one of them.

I deal with a lot of complaints and problems every day. I thought, ‘Today I am going to go out there and tell them how grateful I am for them and everything they do.’ While these pictures are just a snapshot of the employees that I have, I certainly appreciate them all – even the ones who aren’t in these pictures!”
